What is an Associate Board of Directors?
An Associate Board of Directors is a group of community members who support the organization’s mission through advocacy, fundraising, networking, and community engagement. Associate Board members help expand the organization’s reach and build meaningful connections while supporting the work of the governing Board and staff.
June 2026 marked the establishment of our inaugural Associate Board of Directors.
Mission: The mission of the Associate Board is to help expand the capacity of Family Promise of Greater Cleveland through volunteer services, donor cultivation, fundraising drives, community engagement, and support of the board and leadership.
Vision: Through the Associate Board, Family Promise of Greater Cleveland hopes to excite and motive the next generation of philanthropists.

Family Promise is seeking passionate individuals to join our Associate Board. As an Associate Board member, you will play a vital role in advancing our mission through several core activities. By joining the Associate Board, you’ll gain hands-on experience in nonprofit leadership, event planning, and community engagement. You’ll work alongside a diverse group of peers, all dedicated to making a difference. A part of your commitment as a board member will look like:
helping organize 1-2 unique events each year
Raising community awareness – using social media, outreach initiatives, and your advocacy skills to drive positive change
a time investment of 2-3 hours per month, including monthly meetings
2-year term of service
